Today felt like the perfect day to visit a factory that will soon become a big part of my week. Join me in saying HELLO to "HAWAIIAN SWEET POTATO FACTORY" on Kapiolani Boulevard.
We always hear about supporting local farmers in Hawaii and HSPF (Hawaiian Sweet Potato Factory) is perfect example of that support. The sweet potatoes are sourced on a farm from the beautiful city of Waialua on Oahu.
When you come into the store, you may not see the sweet potato cellar in the back...but it's there! Much like aging wine, the sweet potatoes are kept in the cellar until they are ready to be served or cooked up to culinary perfection.
From bread to pastries, farmer's sandwiches to pies, refreshing juices to sweet potatoes in the raw, the Hawaiian Sweet Potato Factory is a great stop to pick up a snack or grab a lunch... (don't forget to order their sweet potato fries).
What caught my attention and drew me in was the drinks that I kept seeing popping up on social media. I'm sure we've all tried juices from a variety of locations but I needed to visit and try these flavors out for myself. Which one would you try?
The Hawaiian Sweet Potato Factory is new to Honolulu, as they opened their doors in August 2017. If you're in the Ala Moana area or cruising down Kapiolani Boulevard, stop in and pick up a sweet potato to munch in the car or hydrate on one of their refreshing, tasty juices.
I decided to order the "fan favorite" which is the "ROYAL PURPLE". Go in and see for yourself! Natural sweetness from a locally grown sweet potato, I couldn't be happier!
