Do Your Feet A Favor...
How many people spend all day on their feet? Walking, running, shuffling into shoes they'd rather be kicking off. If you're like me, once you get home, just sitting down to take a breath feels like such a relief.
Years ago, I needed to have surgery on one of my feet. I was referred to a doctor who had been in Hawaii for more than 10 years working as a podiatrist and a Board Certified Foot and Ankle Surgeon at the Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu and the Pali Momi Medical Center in Aiea.
Besides being an INCREDIBLE podiatrist/surgeon, he is also a SMALL BUSINESS OWNER in Honolulu. Dr. Morris is the founder of "THE ULTIMATE FOOT STORE".
Have you visited the store yet? Chances are you might have as he has stores literally around the island. He opened a total of four...ooops! FIVE stores on Oahu. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE LOCATIONS . The newest location isn't listed on the website yet but TRUST ME it's there! Ka Makana Alii in Kapolei is the newest home to another "THE ULTIMATE FOOT STORE".
We visited the shopping mall to have a bite to each for brunch with no intention of stopping at any retail store (we got a tight schedule. LOL) But, we popped in THE ULTIMATE FOOT STORE just to take a look around. What we received was more than we bargained for....
There may be a few people thinking, "I get my shoes from another shoe store". Well, that was my mentality years ago before stopping at the Ward Warehouse location where I was surprised, educated and convinced that what I received from the store would really help me.
Here at the Ka Makana Alii store, we were immediately greeted upon entering and the young lady asked if we would like to do a complimentary ORTHOTIC ANALYSIS. "OF COURSE!" I said politely! Now, what does an orthotic analysis do?
This analysis is PAIN FREE (YAY!) and doesn't take more than 30 seconds to conduct. Place your feet in the designated area and watch to see where a majority of your pressure is being placed on your feet. This analysis is NOT an exact science but it does provide a clear picture of where pressure is building up on your feet. The staff at the store certainly helped us to find the right fit that made our feet feel better.
Growing up here in Hawaii, we were raised walking around in rubber slippers and/or being barefoot. In the days I was growing up, I didn't know that by walking around without the proper support, I'd be placing a great deal of pressure on my ligaments in my feet. I have high arches and noticed that without the support, I would be causing my arches to collapse. After speaking with the knowledgeable staff at the store, poor foot support could play a role in other issues like back problems and neck concerns.
With that being said, we were convinced to purchase a insole to place in our shoes. We were very fortunate and so grateful to be assisted by Ms. SHANNEL (gosh, I hope I spelled it right...I know you said it wasn't CHANEL) from the Big Island! She was knowledgeable and patient. She went beyond the call and showed us EVERY option that we could choose from telling us the difference between the brands and eventually helped us find one to fit our lifestyles.
THE ULTIMATE FOOT STORE is filled with a variety of brands to choose from. The friendly staff is ready, willing and waiting to help get your feet feeling better! They have a selection of colors along with styles for both men and women!
We are so grateful for the assistance and education we received. Before I plan the big DISNEYWORLD trip, I'll certainly be coming back here to pick up some comfortable shoes or insoles.
Thank very much SHANNEL for your professionalism and clear assessment of our needs, we're on DAY 3 of the new insoles and feel great! Dr. Morris a big mahalo for opening this small business geared to help people around the island with taking better care of their feet...and ultimately, better care of their health.
If you're looking to purchase an insole, bring your shoes with you so you're able to place one inside and see the difference for yourself!
