The First Ingredient Is LOVE!

Two cousins who are as inseparable as the flavors of the granola they create!  KAHEALANI DILLON and JANAH COOK are the founders and operators of THE STICK & THE BALL

 

"Once upon a time, there were two Aquarian cousins who were born five days apart.  They were inseparable whenever they were together.  Their Dads gave them nicknames and they became The Stick & The Ball."  (Ref. the back of the granola bag)

 

I finally had the chance to visit THE STICK & THE BALL at the ALOHA FARM LOVER's Farmer's Market at Pearlridge Center.  I messaged KAHEA two weeks ago and told her I'd be stopping by to check out this GRANOLA I've heard so much about.  All I can tell you is... I wish I stopped by sooner! 

 

I was going to grab a small yogurt parfait and just take a few snap shots of the granola out on the table BUT NOOOOOO!  I couldn't tear myself away after trying a few of their samples. 

 

I went home with a couple bags of crunchy deliciousness and let me tell you.  Today was the day to crack one open and tell you all about it.  Needless to say, I opened a bag, poured some on a plate (just to take a cover shot) and ATE the entire bag!!!!

 

After the first couple of bites, I took a good look at the package and LOVED everything I read.... ORGANIC, NATURAL, LOVE... These are all words that you like to hear before plating food for friends and family!  

 

While at the farmer's market, I tried eating the granola on a mix of Acai and Yogurt.  The parfait was just the right size, perfect for a mid-day snack or morning breakfast. 

 

 

THE STICK and THE BALL can be found at two farmer's markets throughout the week:  (1) Pearlridge Farmers' Market (Saturdays from 8am - 12pm) and (2) Farmlovers Market at Ka Makana Ali'i (Wednesdays from 3:30pm - 7:30pm). 

 

 

If you can't make it to one of the markets, KAHEA and JANAH have just recently opened their bakery in Waipahu at 94-750 Hikimoe Street, Suite H Waipahu, HI 96797 Their hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9am-1pm.  

 

 

Now don't think that GRANOLA is only good on yogurts and acai bowls (although they are scrumptious when combined with those).  Kahea's cousin told me that she makes sandwiches and throws some granola in there to give it some texture!  Put it on ice cream or eat it right out of the bag.  Tonight, I shall be making Banana Nut Muffins and I plan on placing the APPLE CINNAMON GRANOLA in the batter (I'm so excited!)
