A Photo Journey Of Harbor Restaurant Pier 38

Lunch (for me) is one of my favorite meals of the day. Traditionally, I partake in a small breakfast to match a cup of coffee before heading out the door. My dinners are normally small in portion size (I don't know why... I should be tired from the long days) but my LUNCH is where I get a little excited to try something different and tasty!

I was so thrilled to hear that my lunch partner-in-crime recommended going to this exquisite restaurant on the second floor, fronting the harbor! I invite you all to say ALOHA and stop in to fulfill your lunchin' (and dinner) needs at HARBOR RESTAURANT at PIER 38!

Join me as I take you on a photo journey of my lunch....

Arrival at Harbor Restaurant Pier 38 (FREE Parking is available on the mountain side of the building)

Entrance into the restaurant

This "A-Frame" was outside showing the hours of operation (I love this as people can take photos and post it for friends to see... very akamai (smart)

Upon walking through the doors, you're greeted with 2 options..the elevator or the stairs (as the restaurant is on the second floor).

Because I knew I'd be carbo-loading for lunch, i thought it wise to take the stairs!

It's not like you're climbing Mount Everest! Just the right amount of stairs to make you feel like you did your share of cardio for the day..."Perfect!"

The waiting area is so comfortable and open! There's a few skylights so natural light floods in.

When you first gaze at the restaurant, the attention to detail is certainly apparent...but just wait!

These incredible SALOON DOORS (leads to the restrooms) are the main reason my brunching partner recommended this restaurant! She LOVES THEM!

As soon as we walked in, a smile and greeting was given that immediately makes you feel welcome!

A separate bar style seating (raised table and raised chairs) are available if cocktailin' and snackin' is on your mind.

The dining area is huge! High ceilings are delightful

The dining area is also well spaced out and the chairs are large and comfortable!

The bar area is on the mountain side (Mauka) of the large open dining experience

We sat by the window that looks out into the harbor area. There is a lot natural light that makes taking food pictures so much easier! One would think that with all this light it would be warm but the dining facility is powered by air conditioning that makes for a comfortable experience.

Our server Kalani was great! He made us feel like a friend and treated us so warmly. When we asked his thoughts between 2 dishes, he instead recommended something completely different. He said the dish would remind us of "Char Sui" (Bar-B-Que pork) and obviously that was good enough for us!

The menu in general (in my opinion) is well thought out and great for a lunch time crowd looking to get a bite to eat before heading back to work!

He spoke to us about a grill that HARBOR RESTAURANT has and uses to prepare many of the dishes featured. The Brasa (charcoal) grill, "a charcoal burning grill/smoker/oven appliance that delivers superior taste and texture to all types of food."

Between the view of the harbor and the unique ligh fixtures, wall panels and floors, my eyes were overwhelmed with style!

THEN, the food came out....

SOOOOOOOO glad we took Kalani's advice! It did remind us of Char Sui! On the menu, it's called the Sweet Ginger Shoyu Broiled Pork Shoulder!

I feasted on the Prime Rib dip sandwich with Garlic Parmesan Lattice Chips.

I even had left overs to bring back with me!

A meal wouldn't be complete without a perfect dessert so i felt the need to caffeinate myself with an AFFOGATO! Little did I know it was going to be such a show (see video above). I highly recommend it!

It's served in a martini glass. Great presentation! But the blend of the espresso and vanilla ice cream just took my breath away... then again, it also helped me to work at the speed of light upon returning to the office.

I want to send a big MAHALO out to everyone at Harbor Restaurant at Pier 38 as everyone was fantastic! The food was just what we needed for the lunch time hour (kinda makes me wanna try out dinner). The service was delightful and friendly. The ambiance was open and intimate at the same time. The little decoration touches around the restaurant were tastefully done to make you feel relaxed! You certainly got all smiles at our table!

We'd love to join you again for dinner and can't wait to see what's in store for us!
